The setting of this story: a human has accidently enrolled in a school for animals masquerading as humans. At first it seemed uncomfortably similar to Rosario+Vampire, Vol. 1 by Akihisa Ikeda (which had monsters rather than humans), but this series is aimed at a younger audience. Initially I was finding it difficult to understand the animals-wanting-to-be-human scenario, and by the end the first volume, apart from the super cute pictures, there were no compelling reasons to move to the next volume. As I already had Volume 2 in my possession I kept reading. Here the story started to redeem itself by adding some interesting characters and a little mystery to the mix.
Keeping in mind that this story is for a younger audience, I can see this appealing to girls aged 10+ who love animals, and it could make a good introduction to the manga genre.
