First I want to say sorry for not writing in a while. Okay Soul Eater is a action comedy with a creepy undertone, its about Death and his academy of students of weapons and weapon masters. There are main Student characters; Master Characters: Maka, Black Star, And Kid son of death. Weapon Characters: Soul Eater, Tsubaki, Liz and Patty Thompson. There are other students but these are the main 6 you see throughout the series. The main plot is a weapon student must collect 99 Keishen souls(or nearly evil souls) and 1 witch soul to become a strong official Death scythe.
Through out the series they all deal with emotional and physical barriers some of which is defeating evil witches, defeating a full fledged Keishen, Soul Eater being consumed by a evil demon, Black Star not dealing with a lose, and Kid hating un-symmetry. This is a great action packed anime in a creepy Halloween type setting, which is why I love it, if I were you I'd go watch this asap.
This is a pretty standard action anime in a lot ways like Dragon Ball, good guy fights evil he gets stronger beats evil; rinse and repeat. The cool thing about this anime it also has a story and twist to go with it even a little romance. The story starts with the main character Yusuke dieing, yes dieing, Whom as a spirit meets Botan a beautiful girl who turns out to be the grim reaper. Yusuke is a delinquent child that gets into fights and skips school, only reason he dies is because he is nice once and saves a kid from being ran over, the ironic part being is the kid would of been missed and Yusuke died for no reason. The first season is all about finding a way to bring him back to life, which is done by help of his more than friend Keiko. the season on up is Yusuke and a few friends using spirit powers; 2 of which are demons fighting battles as spirit detectives. By the way if u watched fruit baskets you can recognize Tohru and Keiko have the same voice actress. The series may have pretty obvious fights like most action shows, it still has great funny moments and will have you rooting for Keiko and Yusuke to finally get over their shyness and date. I definitely recommend this nearly 200 episode series, and to make sure you don't feel disappointed yes there is a decent ending to this long series.
FLCL is a zany anime about 6 episodes, its about a young boy and a older alien women and a bunch of randomness. Naota is 12 years old a normal boy living a boring life, there are rumors of a Vespa woman (Wasp) which gives you a hickey type mark on your neck. Naota after school walking home gets hit by Haruko a 20 year old alien woman in a scooter. Naota goes home annoyed and weirded out with a mark on his forehead which he covers with a band aid. The next day he goes to school and is called a pervert and was bitten by the Vespa woman. I should mention there is a mechanica factory in there town which is very eerie. Mamimi is Naota's older friend and and ex to his brother. The mark on Naota's gets bigger and soon sprouts the first robot out of his head called Canti, which Mamimi thinks is a fire angel and some sort of protector. Haruko The alien stays at Naota's house as the maid and lives in his room. Haruko is looking for what seems like a boyfriend or a man she lost, and Naota fuses with Canti to create that guy, and summons a guitar out of his head and uses it as a bat, to deflect a meteor from hitting his city. Naota love Haruko but she doesn't want him, she wants the guy shes been looking for. Haruko leaves and thats pretty much the end. FLCL has many random scenes, and can be very perverted. Its the type of show that u have to watch at least three times in order to get it but many I spoken to loves the show.
Most people know Inuyasha but i still want to talk about it since it was my favorite for many years. It starts out as a young girl Kagome, and she falls down a well. The well takes her to the feudal era, where demons still exist. There she meets a half dog demon Inuyasha, whom first tries to kill her for the Sacred Jewel of Four Souls. A demon bird steals it, Kagome gets the idea to use its leg they chopped off to shoot a homing arrow, which shatters the jewel across the world. Inuyasha and Kagome have to get along to get the jewel, which Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo the priestess protector of the jewel, and Inuyasha wants it to be full demon because he believes he isn't strong enough. During their journey a witch brings to life Kikyo, which is also Inuyasha's ex lover. throughout the series Inuyasha cant make up his mine about which girl he loves. Soon they find out a very powerful demon Naraku, is after the shards and has many of them. Naraku was a human villain whom almost died but thanks to Kikyo saved him, Naraku wanted her so much he sacrificed himself to demons to become one. On the journey the Meet a perverted monk Miroku, a demon hunter Sango with pet demon cat kirara, and a little fox demon kid Shippo. Throughout their journey they get close to beating Naraku but never do, but the couples love grow each day, and I heard theres a second series not in English yet that finishes the series. Characters: Inuyasha a half demon hated by boy sides, wants to be strong to prove everyone wrong even his brother. Kagome a young girl with a short temper which causes the whole jewel hunt. Sango a demon hunter whom watched her entire family die because of Naraku and watch her only family left her little brother be taken by Naraku. Miroku a perverted monk that likes grabbing butt and falls for Sango, he has a family curse from Naraku a black hole in his hand that one day will swallow him whole unless they kill Naraku. Shippo a fox demon kid which is orphaned and the group takes him with them. Kikyo the original protector of the jewel Naraku tricked her and Inuyasha into betraying each other. Kirara a fire demon cat that can grow to tiger size, Sango's pet and ride. This anime series is a romance fantasy action comedy and a great watch with over 180 episodes and 4 movies.
Rosario + Vampire is a anime about a human boy, and he is about to start school. Tsukune (the human boy) starts his first day in high school in Yokai Academy, and meets his first friend Moka; whom he finds out is a vampire who also loves his sweet human blood. Tsukune finds out Yokai school is a school for monsters and it was a mistake for him being there. Tsukune meets a new girl until he has a group of friends that will do anything to protect him and his secret. Characters: Tsukune the only human at his school is slightly a pervert and isn't very strong. Moka is Tsukune's best friend and is a vampire whom really loves his blood. she also has a hidden power when ever her necklace is ripped off of her by a true love, she becomes full vampire and very powerful. Kurumu is a big breasted Succubus whom finds out Tsukune's secret later on, and is always trying to use her powers to make him love her. Ginei is a male werewolf and a peeping tom. He is also the leader of the newspaper club that Tsukune and friends join. Yukari is the newest of friends she is a 11 year old witch, most monsters hate witches because there so close to human. She gets teased a lot and Tsukune helps her out. Mizore is a abominable snow girl with snow powers she is the shyest of the group and gets a crush on Tsukune as well. the group of friends usually have to defeat another monster in every episode because of Tsukune being attacked. there is a ton of pervertedness in this anime you see there underwear a lot, many times boobs bounce unnaturally. This anime is very funny though and I like the plot very much, I also like pervertedness but if you don't I suggest getting past it and watch the show for its true plot.
Tenchi Muyo GXP is a spin off of Tenchi, revolving around completely different characters from the galaxy police. GXP has a similar plot one boy whom has a ton of crushes on him, even though he doesn't seem that cool of a guy. Seina is a clumsy boy whom luck is the worst; I mean so bad that he is literary is the unluckiest in the universe. Seina ends up signing himself to a military career, and finds out he is not just in military he becomes a galaxy police initiate. Seina meets a upper command blonde bombshell Amane, and a human friend whom he finds out is in GXP Kiriko. Soon Because Seina's bad luck he seems to attract pirates and becomes bait for the GXP. Seina becomes captain of his own bait ship along with his 2 friends by his side Amane and Kiriko whom seem to fight for him. Throughout the series Seina meets many enemy's and and many girls most of which become his friends or work on his team. One of which is Ryoko a different Ryoko not from the other series, Ryoko is a beautiful pirate whom Seina is suppose to capture. SPOILER: Seina's friends all of the female anyway; which turns out to be like 6 or so, all marry Seina to cause galactic peace most of the women are high in politics or are princesses. Seina has a helper robot called NB whom malfunctions and gets a personality change, and becomes a pervert and peeping tom, NB tries selling Seina and his fellow recruits dirty videos of Kiriko and Amane. This anime is very funny but i think its just a more perverted versions of the original Tenchi series, its not as good but still very funny.
Tenchi Muyo has 3 different series all revolving around the same characters. This is a very funny harem series with Tenchi stuck in the middle, all series are based on science fiction, comedy, relationships. Tenchi is the hero 2 of the many girls have crushes on him and fight over him all the time. There is a genius, a couple of space police, a little girl and Tenchi's father and grandpa. Tenchi- strong, brave, half alien not shy but indecisive, all the friends revolve around him. Ryoko- strong, alien space pirate, knows what she wants, tries to get Tenchi to be intimate with her. Ayeka- a space princess which has the same blood as Tenchi, also fights with Ryoko to be with Tenchi, a bit snobbish but good hearted. Sasami- Ayeka's sister most mature out of the girls, cooks well, and is very sweet. Washu- a alien super genius use to be evil, but because of Tenchi's friendship she is good. Mihoshi and Kiyone- A couple of space pirates Mihoshi is very klutzy and is a airhead, Kiyone the more mature and best friend of Mihoshi, says Mihoshi holds her back but wont leave her. Ryo-Ohki- is Ryoko's space ship that can take the form of a tiny bunny that meows. Tenchi's grandfather Yosho- turns out to be part of the same royal family Ayeka is from. This is a great anime about relationships, friendships, and doing whatever it takes to protect the one you love, with great action and comedy.

Iron town a town nearby clears forest to make coal for melting down there iron. The town is attacked by wolf gods and their adopted human girl San, repeatedly trying to get the humans to leave. Many humans die a couple are injured falling to what seems their deaths. Ashitaka finds these men and carries them to there home, which he gets a warm welcome from the women(ex prostitutes saved from brothels). Ashitaka is barely able to control the demon arm from the rage he felt, then and there the wolf girl San tries to kill Lady Eboshi. Ashitaka stops both of them and goes with San to the forest to meet the God of life and death (The Forest Spirit). Ashitaka finds out outside humans are going to kill the god for its head, the boar gods enraged are going to attack the city, and the iron town is preparing for war. This is the second Miyazaki film I seen; and has great emotional depth, i'd definitely add this to your collection of family films. You may want to watch it first before letting your kids watch it because of the violence.
This is an amazing movie which has a lot of the sames themes as Avatar, but is on earth set a 1000 years in the future of us completely destroying the ecosystem, from a war. The story revolves around Nausicaa a smart and beautiful girl, whom loves nature animals and all people. Nausicaa and her people live in a valley which has the purest air, which is needed because most of the world has developed a toxic forest that even the air in it is very toxic. Nausicaa studies the plants and giant insects to see why their so toxic. She has in her house the most toxic of plants with the purest water and soil, finding out the jungle isn't toxic, its actually absorbing the toxins we put into the earth and the bugs are protecting the forest. As usual humans wan't to destroy something that they don't understand, there is war going on between 2 countries. Their fighting over a ancient weapon, a giant robot that can burn everything in its path and there going to use it on the forest and other counties. Nausicaa ends up stopping the fight but already the plan went out, they were going to use a baby insect to make the rest go wild and leave the forest, to kill everyone in the other cities. Nausicaa sacrifices herself in front of the animals and it calms the beasts so they go back to the forest. there was a ancient story of a man in blue that walked in a field of gold, that a old woman told; that was passed down from her family. SPOILER: Nausicaa in the end is wearing blue, and the insects lift her and are mourning her, there feelers are golden, Nausicaa awakens walking on the feelers, making it look like the golden field. This is one of Miyazaki's older films and is one of his greatest about how use humans need to take care of the earth and wild life, or there will be consequences. next blog i'll talk about Castle in the Sky which has a lot of the same themes.
Howl's Moving Castle is a beautiful love story, set in a fantasy about wizards, war, and I think in Europe setting. Howl's Moving Castle is about a young hatter named Sophie, she is plain in every way; while her sister and mother are very beautiful blonds. One day Sophie is walking to her sisters, but runs into Howl a wizard whom is running from the Witch the Waste. After speaking with her sister Sophie goes to work, working late a woman comes in after hours; Sophie denies her business since there closed, the women (the Witch of the Waste) Curses Sophie to be a 90 year old woman that can't speak to anyone about the curse. Sophie at 90 tries to climb the miles of hills to get back to the witch, and have her stop the curse. Sophie helps a magical turnip scarecrow, so he helps her to a moving castle for shelter. Where Sophie meets Calcifer a fire demon running the house, a boy Markl an apprentice, and Howl again. Howl lets Sophie stay as the house cleaner. Calcifer is cursed to never leave the house, and realizes right away Sophie is cursed and tries to make a deal to help each other. Sophie helps Howl by going to see his trainer, Howl made an oath to go into war when needed. Sophie (playing as Howls mother) goes into the castle to decline his invitation, at the castle they steal the Witch of the Wastes powers. Sophie gets mad and starts yelling at Madame Suliman, then Madame realizes Sophie's in love because Sophie turns back to herself temporarily. Howl jumps in and helps them escape to the castle as he fights off other wizards. Now Sophie and the witch is staying there at the castle. Sophie finds out as a kid Howl gave Calcifer his heart, when howl is very weak from the battle and the house has fallen apart, Sophie saves Howl by giving Howl his heart back, releasing his curse, gives Turnip Head a kiss and he turns back to a prince, which can stop the war. Sophie is finally herself but her hair is still silver as starlight, and her and Howl stay together as a couple. This is a 2004 Miyazaki film and is my wifes favorite movie and one of mine, id definitely ad this to your collection as a fantasy romance, comedy.
Spirited Away is one of the most seen of his movies, if u haven't seen it your one of the few. Spirited Away is another Miyazaki film, which about a child in a fantasy place, like i said in my last post pretty much all his movies involve children learning a lesson or young adult, in a alternate place may it be fantasy or nature. Chihiro(10) is sullen about moving away from her friends to a new place. Chihiro like most kids get fussy, and pouts the whole trip. The father gets lost and they end up at this old gate, Chihiro wants to stay behind because shes scared but goes with them anyway through it. What they find appears to be a rundown theme park, as they go through they find a buffet with no one there. Chihiro feels like they could get inn trouble and walks off as her family pigs down thinking they will pay after the meal. As it turns night the spirits come, because it turns out this place is a bridge to the spirit world, Chihiro runs to her parents finding out their turned into pigs. The owner of the place; a witch, makes Chihiro runs into a boy named Haku he decides to help her, he sneaks Chihiro into the bath house and up into the bosses office, she asks for job, because Haku tells her about the creed they cannot turn anyone down a job. The witch makes a contract with her, and takes away her name and give Chihiro a new one, Haku tells her to remember her name its how the witch keeps you from going home. Chihiro goes on the journey of working at the bath house and finding a way to free her parents, she grows up and learns about true love and that change can be an adventure to. Most of Miyazaki films are great for the family and young at heart, a definite classic and a must watch. I suggest adding this to your Miyazaki collection.

Daisuke from the start loves loves Risa Harada twin of Riku Harada, Risa has long hair cant cook is very prissy but not cruel also has a fascination with psychics and Dark. Riku is athletic, cooks well, tomboyish and down to earth, later on she grows feeling for Daisuke.
Riku and Risa
Daisuke is kind, artistic, shy, but brave, clumsy but strong, and is a true romantic. Dark is the total opposite he is suave, a flirt, thrives to be his own person. The plot is this Daisuke has to become Dark a angel art thief because the art there stealing is from a long time rival family that has dark powers which could destroy the town. Soon Daisuke meets Satoshi Hiwatari; a transfer student which is the last member of the family which he steals from. Hiwatari has an alter ego of an white angel Crad whom is pure evil. Even though Crad is evil, Hiwatari is confused and rivals Daisuke, Hiwatari in the end befriends Daisuke. SPOILER: As the story goes on Daisuke love seems to diminish from Risa And transfers to Riku, towards the middle of the series Riku and Daisuke start dating and talk nonstop. This anime is great for its storyline, its conflicting emotions in each character makes the anime beautiful in romance but don't think its just romance; D.N. Angel has really funny moments and some great action. D.N. Angel is definitely a must watch.
Evangelion; has been seen as one of the greatest anime out there based on storyline. The basic story is Nerv a company for destroying angels, so they don't create a third impact. Nerv has 3 kids; Shinji Ikari male, Rei Ayanami silver haired female, and Asuka Langley Soryu red headed German female; all to be in these mech suits (Evangelion). What the third impact means is that there was this angel that fell to earth which created the 2nd impact or the destruction of earth. the 3rd impact is when an angel gets close enough to Adam the first angel, which will finally cause the destruction of humanity. The 3 kids are unstable; and no more than Shinji; his father Gendo Ikari is the commander of Nerv and has never paid attention to Shinji since his mother died. The first episode is Shinji finally seeing his father after years, Shinji is the 3rd child that can connect with Evangelion. You find out Shinji is a introvert, and does whatever he is told because he thinks has no choice and wants to please everyone. Throughout the series you learn how unstable these kids really are, towards the end Asuka goes through a breakdown and can't connect with her unit anymore, you learn more about Rei's past, and final two episodes is Shinji's realization.
This anime is mostly drama, action, and psych 101, with some humor and fan-service so you don't go crazy. I suggest watching these 26 episodes the originals, because there making 4 movies to remake the series how they wanted, because the ending well the original ending wasn't a ending at in my standards. Two out of four movies are already out Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0 in English, 2.0 isn't out in English, 3.0 and final hasn't been announced yet. I definitely want you to watch the original series to appreciate the 10 or so years of us fans waiting.
